Get Involved

We want Ask a Scientist to be a site where anyone can come and learn or share their knowledge. No question is a stupid question, and every answer is from a genuine scientist who know what they’re talking about!

The simplest way of getting involved is to simply ask a question! Either via twitter (sending an @reply to @askascientist) or via the site, by filling in the form on our Ask page.

Scientists

Are you a scientist currently working in the UK who has a passion for your subject and sharing knowledge? We’re always on the look out for new talent to join our team of volunteer scientists who take time out of their own busy lives to answer questions. What’s more, if you’re a STEMNET ambassador, taking the time to answer a few questions can count to an activity you have undertaken as part of your STEMNET requirements.

All we ask, is for you to logon to our dedicated question repository periodically to see if there are any questions that take your fancy, and if there are, take a short time to write an answer and submit it to the site. All we require is that you’re a scientist currently working for a science organisation or university within the UK, or you are a PhD student undertaking a science related degree and have good English writing abilities.
